The Healthcare Information Management Program prepares students to address the ever increasing need for trained and certified medical coding and billing workers. The Healthcare Information Management program is designed to provide students with a complete solution for building a new career, or strengthening an existing one. Through hands-on training and exam preparation, students will gain the knowledge to earn four industry standard certifications including: CPC-A (Certified Professional Coder – Apprentice), CPC (Certified Professional Coder after 1 year of experience), CBCS (Certified Billing and Coding Specialist), CMAA (Certified Medical Administrative Assistant), and MCAS (Microsoft Certified Application Specialist).

- Medical Office Procedures and Administration (8 weeks - AM, 6 weeks - PM)
- Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (4 weeks - AM, 3 weeks - PM)
- The Automated Medical Office (4 weeks - AM, 3 weeks - PM)
- Human Anatomy and Terminology (10 weeks - AM, 7 weeks - PM)
- Insurance Billing (10 weeks - AM, 9 weeks - PM)
- Medical Coding (20 weeks - AM, 12 weeks - PM)

- Final version of resume with all additions and corrections made based upon training and certification

“You can find success with a little hard work
and some help from the right source. I found my
success with the help of New Horizons Computer
Learning Center. About four years ago I already
had in mind the goal of becoming a Medical Coding
specialist. I took a course at a local college
in my area in medical terminology and coding
and found that there was something lacking. The
school gave me the general information, but did
not provide instructions on how to get my certificates
and succeed in the real world.
While searching online, I found information on
New Horizons. I made an appointment with a local
center, toured the facility and felt very comfortable
with the environment. With my future goals in

enough knowledge to help me pass my CPC coding
test and get my certificate in the field.
That’s not all!!! New Horizons went above and
beyond to help me succeed. They found a local
medical facility that took me in for a two week
externship for some hands on job experience in
the real world. With that I was able to land a job
doing some medical coding as well as billing and
collections in the medical field. I have not reached
my ultimate goal yet, but I will get there. I was
able to get on the right road though with the help I
