Career Development and Marketing Plans

New Horizons provides individuals with an employment search marketing plan and the connections needed to ensure that their job-hunting experience is a successful endeavor. We will create a customized marketing strategy that matches each individual's strengths with the right position at the right company.

Placement services are provided through the Student Services office within the New Horizons. This office is open to New Horizons Career Fast Track students. Although an appointment isn't necessary, it is recomended to make sure time and resources are available to address your specific needs.

Career Assessment and Planning

Our career advisors will evaluate previous work experience, education and find out what you enjoy the most. They will use resources like the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Handbook and target occupations that allow you to enjoy a prosperous and rewarding career.

Resume and Cover Letter construction

We will create resumes and cover letters that get you noticed. Your resume will be eliminated in a matter of seconds if it does not stand out from your competitors! Your phone will ring!

Marketing your skills/Resume Distribution

You can be the best candidate with the best resume and still never get hired. Your resume will be sent to hiring managers that are in need of quality employees and posted to various job-posting websites. In addition, we will furnish you with contact information from over 2,000 IT hiring managers in the Greater Kansas City Metro area.

Just-In-Time-Job-Leads

You will receive a weekly job lead list that is emailed to the address that you provide us. These are recent job postings from our list of contacts that we work with. We will work with you until you reach your employment goals.

Interview coaching and mentoring

Effective interviewing skills and being prepared are what ultimately land you the job! We ensure that you will be prepared when the time comes. Our career advisors coach you in mock interviews in person and over the phone.

Career Builder Workshop

This one day workshop will teach you everything you need to know to become an effective salesperson for the product you want hiring managers to buy: yourself! We’ll teach you how to polish your product, create effective resumes and cover letters, network for job opportunities in non-traditional ways, and most importantly, interview effectively to land that desired job.
